Summary:
|
Staff requests approval of a Memorandum of Understanding with Big Smiles Dental Service Agency. If approved, Big Smiles will provide routine dental services for children at designated district schools at no cost to the district. Big Smiles is a dental service agency with a record of successful experience in California schools. California licensed dentists, dental assistants, and dental hygienists offer services on designated days. Services require parent/legal guardian permission. Dental services are free for children covered by Medi-Cal or Healthy Families health insurance. Most dental insurance plans are also accepted. Services or resources are available for children without health insurance. Schools at which services will be provided are to be determined and may initially include Cambridge, Shore Acres and Bel Air. If the organization has capacity then Meadow Homes, Ygnacio Valley Elementary, Rio Vista, Riverview, Glenbrook and Oak Grove may also be offered services.
