:
Staff requests permission to submit an application to Contra Costa County Family and Children's Trust (FACT) for the Contra Costa County FACT Grant in the amount of $80,000 to provide support services for teen parents at Crossroads High School. These funds will be used to encourage continued school enrollment, improve academic performance, promote understanding of child development and the adoption of positive parenting practices. This grant supports student learning by providing a program that includes mentoring and tutoring, parenting and life skills education. Services will include reading support, math support, career exploration, counseling, and strengthening parenting skills. This is a one year renewable grant.
