Summary
:
Staff requests authorization to submit the U.S. Department of Education's Smaller Learning Communities (SLC) grant for Mt. Diablo High and Ygnacio Valley High Schools. The SLC program awards discretionary grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) to support the implementation of SLCs and activities to improve student academic achievement in large public high schools with enrollments of 1,000 or more students. If awarded, the district will receive 4 million dollars over five years.
