Summary
:
A committee of high school science teachers and a school support administrator completed a district process to recommend for adoption the following text and materials for the high school Environmental Science course: Environmental Science: Your World, Your Turn (Pearson). The selection of a new text was driven by the need for a text to support the revised course of study for Environmental Science.
The committee evaluated the materials based on an alignment to Common Core State Standards – Reading and Writing in Science and with attention to the proposed Next Generation Science Standards. Focus was placed text accessibility, alignment to current as well as proposed standards, career paths, labs/field study, assessments, depth of support for teachers, and support for all students.
