Summary:
|
In 2001 the Child Internet Protection Act known as CIPA was passed by the Federal Government to ensure that children have a device that protects them from inappropriate content while using electronic devices on the Mt. Diablo Unified School Networks. To ensure this mandate is adhered to the Federal Government ties Erate discounts to compliance to CIPA. Our current filter will not accommodate our 100 GB backbone and does not have adequate tools to accomplish compliance when encrypted protocols are used. No other single appliance offers these services and staff recommends the purchase using the 2019 Merced County FOCUS contract pricing.
