Summary: A committee of Engineering Academy Math Teachers and the Curriculum Specialist met to develop an Applied Geometry (Introduction to Engineering Design) Course of Study. Applied Geometry (Introduction to Engineering Design) is a one year Project Lead the Way course in the Engineering Academy that is aligned with the California State Mathematics Standards for Geometry. The main focus of this course is on teaching all the content standards for Geometry. In addition, this course uses a design development process. While enriching problem solving skills, students create and analyze models using specialized computer software. This is the first year of a three year sequence course for the Engineering Academy.
Funding: None required.
