Summary:
|
On February 23, 2010 the Board of Education awarded a design services contract to PHd Architects to provide comprehensive engineering and architectural services necessary for multiple iterations of a high efficiency and energy conserving 960 sq. ft. classroom building design. Once fully designed and approved by the Department of the State Architect (DSA) this 'pre-checked' design would be deemed 'pre-checked' by DSA and future approvals for site adaption would then be significantly expedited. Additionally, the District would retain exclusive re-use rights of the 'pre-checked' design and the multiple design iterations.
The District now desires to enjoy full and exclusive re-use rights to a set of 'pre-checked' designs and specifications for larger, high efficiency, specialized classrooms (e.g. science, chemistry) for future use within the 2010 Measure C Failities Improvement Program. As such, staff has negotiated a contract amendment with PHd Architects for the provision of comprehensive design services for such occupancies for a not to exceed cost of $54,200.00.
