Summary
:
A committee of high school science teachers and a school support administrator for science met to develop a Sports Medicine course of study. The Medical and Biotechnology Academy has existed in a smaller form consisting of only 12th grade students. With the expansion to 10th through 12th grade , the need for a 10th grade Sports Medicine I course was identified. This course emphasizes key concepts of the ROP Sports Medicine course, currently being taught in the district, but adds cross curricular projects with an emphasis on career technical training and career exploration within the medical and biotechnology fields.
