Summary: At the Board of Education meeting held May 22,2007 the trustees voted to approve a contract between Cal-Air( Johnson Controls) to provide phase 2 of a Energy Conservation\Services agreement. Due to future considerations, two items were removed from the construction process. These items were the solar installation for the pools at Mt. Diablo High School and College Park High School. The removal of items created a credit for additional cost savings measures.
Staff recommends that with the reduced projects that the following projects be added in lieu of the solar installation.
Upgrade all classroom lighting at Oak Grove Middle School to install new fixtures and electronic ballasts; Re lamp Riverview Middle School Gymnasium Lighting with energy efficient fixtures and the installation of trash compactor units at Concord and Ygnacio Valley High School.
Funding: Already budgeted through 2007 Contract with Cal- Air
(Johnson Controls) which is funded by Energy Savings, rebates and waste disposal savings.
Fiscal Impact Total yearly projection of energy savings is $34,250
