Summary: The local governing board is required to make an annual determination of the sufficiency of textbooks or instructional materials, consistent with the content standards adopted pursuant to Education Code Section 60605. All MDUSD schools have determined text needs. Site councils have participated in any plans to remedy shortages within two months, as required by law, unless the school is a Williams School requiring immediate remedy of shortage.
Funding: Textbooks and instructional materials will be purchased with Instructional Materials Fund Realignment Program, Lottery, and Williams Settlement Instructional Materials Funds.
Fiscal Impact No impact to the General Fund
Recommendation: Adopt 2010/2011 Resolution of Sufficiency of Textbooks and Instructional Materials.
