Summary: Augmentative Communication & Technology Services is a Non-Public Agency (NPA) that will provide consultation services to severely speech impaired students who require augmentative /alternative communication systems and assistive technology for spoken and written communication. This agency helps the District maintain legal compliance related to the previous consent decree by assisting in the procurement of equipment through private insurers, providing staff training, and assisting with specialized curriculum development.
Funding: General Purpose/Special Education. Program Code 1219.
Fiscal Impact The contract amount for the 2011-2012 school year is $50,000 and is already a budgeted expense in the 2011-12 budget. This is a $5,000 reduction from the previous school year.
