Summary: Jack Schreder & Associates has prepared a Developer Fee Justification Study dated April 2010 in order to justify the continued collection of the current developer fees of $2.97 per square foot for residential development and $0.47 per square foot for commercial/industrial construction (with the exception of mini-storage which has been reduced from $0.23 to $0.17 per square foot).

The State Allocation Board's biennial inflation adjustment maintains the current level of fees to be collected as authorized by Education Code Section 17620 and Government Code Section 65995.
Funding: New Development.
Fiscal Impact Approximately $1,000,000 per year.
Recommendation: Adopt Study to maintain the continued collection of the current fees.
