On December 1, 2012, a laptop with sensitive material was stolen. The District implemented Security Breach Notification protocols and a membership in ProtectMyID Elite was offered to potentially affected individuals. The District has paid $80,954.20 and must pay another $19,045.80 to Experian to satisfy the $100,000.00 retention. A twenty percent (20%) coinsurance is required for any amount over the $100,000.00 retention. The attached invoices total $48,316.50. Paying $19,045.80 of the $43,267.50 Experian invoices leaves a balance of $29,270.70 and the total 20% coinsurance fee for all attached invoices is $5,854.14 ($4,844.34 to Experian and $1,009.80 to NPC (Immersion)). Therefore, the $19,045.80 retention plus the $5,854.14 coinsurance totals $24,899.94. There have been 2,942 enrollments in ProtectMyID Elite.
