Summary: The job description (JD) for the Director, Fiscal was last updated about 11 years ago (March 11, 2008) and several operational changes have transpired over this period necessitating a revision to this JD. Two senior management positions were added to the Fiscal Department (Director of Budget and Internal Auditor) both assumed high level budget and audit duties that were previously the responsibility of the Director of Fiscal Services. The Director of Fiscal is currently responsible for payroll, accounts payable & receivable, construction accounting and risk management. This position is currently vacant which provides an opportunity to revise the current job description and salary range. Attached is a proposed revised JD and reduced salary range. In summary this modification has the potential to save about $32K per year. Comparable districts were used for reference in revising the JD and salary range. The proposed revised JD and salary range is for information only and will return for Board approval September 23rd 2019. The intent is to fill this position by October prior to the arrival of the external audit team.
