Summary: Walnut Creek Sister Cities International Program involves people and organize groups at all levels of our society in personal diplomacy. It provides a vehicle for planned and continuous contact between school communities to be actively involved in the rewarding field of international relations at the local level. The goal of the Student Exchange Program is to make a significant contribution to global peace through the exchanges of people, ideas, and cultures. Through the Student Exchange Program, Foothill Middle School and Pleasant Hill Middle School will participate in an exchange of students and teachers with Siofok, Hungary and Noceto, Italy. As an integral and initial part of this program, teachers at Foothill MS and Pleasant Hill MS, will be traveling to Siofok, Hungary and Noceto, Italy, September 27 - October 4, 2013. Board approval is requested for teachers and students to participate in the program.
Funding: Walnut Creek Sister Cities International is paying for travel, lodging, and substitute cost for the teachers.
